I have been a counsellor for 20 years with experience in a wide range of settings. I have worked in the voluntary sector, as a workplace counsellor, in a GP surgery and during the last 10 years have worked in the three Fertility Clinics in Nottingham. I also work at the City Hospital seeing patients from Fetal Care and Maternity Units.
I am an accredited counsellor with British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and an Independent Registered Counsellor with the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors (UKRC). I am a member of British Infertility Counsellors Association (BICA).
My areas of specific interest are:
- Grief , loss and trauma
- Stress, depression and anxiety
- Psychological impact of infertility, traumatic births and terminations following abnormalities in the baby
- Impact on a relationship of infertility and loss of a baby
I work with both individuals and couples.
I follow a brief-focussed model, normally offering up to 6 sessions. However I will negotiate on an individual basis.
