For many new mothers, it’s often very reassuring to have an ultrasound scan during early pregnancy, especially if you’re anxious about your pregnancy or having a baby. Plus of course, a scan can help to make your pregnancy feel more ‘real’ whilst answering any questions or concerns you may have. Best of all, you can visit Proscan at a time that suits you, rather than having to wait for a hospital appointment – putting you in control of your pregnancy.
Similarly, you are welcome to visit for a scan later in your pregnancy – even if you just want to see your baby and check that everything is OK. From around 20 weeks of pregnancy an ultrasound scan will enable us to see your baby very closely including the head, brain, limbs and heart.
Later on, from around 24 weeks of pregnancy we can check to see if your baby is growing normally – an ultrasound scan at this stage can even assess how much your baby is likely to weigh at birth!
