What is an ultrasound scan?

An ultrasound scan is a safe, gentle and painless way of ‘seeing’ inside your body, helping you to assess your chances of becoming pregnant or investigate any fertility problems. Likewise, an ultrasound scan can allow you to see and monitor your unborn baby.
